[B] Scope of Service:

Vendor needs to provide pre-packaged meal service equipment for child nutrition services to the government authority located in Houston, TX.
- Equipment should be designed to be free standing or placed upon existing surfaces for display of pre-packaged meals for the intent of self-service by the customer.
- Service area of equipment shall be designed to display multiple packaging in horizontal rows with minimal spacing in height between rows to maximize number of product offerings and help ensure temperature compliance.
- Two types of equipment are needed: refrigerated and heated, equipment may be either a single unit with separate temperature zones or individual units.
- Units must be capable of maintaining at least 180F for heated zones and less than 40F for refrigerated zones at all times while the units are open for service.  Air curtain designs are acceptable for refrigerated equipment.
- Equipment must be accessible from both the front and the rear with shelving slated slightly towards the consumer, the unit must be designed for customer service from the front and the stocking/re-stocking from the rear.
- The front or customer-side of all units needs to have a cover or other barrier that will completely open the front of the unit for serving time.
- The design of the rear needs to be opaque when closed or drawn when seen from the front/customer side. whatever method is proposed needs to have adequate thermal properties to maintain temperatures for extended periods of time.   doors are allowed on the rear.
- Variable controls must be present and easily accessible to allow changes in temperature of pre-packaged items.
- For times before serving, storage, or after hours needs, the front of the equipment must be able to be completely closed and secured.
- Equipment must be no higher than 72 from ground level and no more than 6 in width, all equipment must have an appropriate height from ground level to ensure.
- some units will be free-standing and some will need to fit inside existing openings approximately 60” wide 36” tall and 36” deep.  It’s preferred that free-standing equipment be on wheels that are capable of being locked to prevent movement during service.
-110V/208V requirements, depending on need and location, all machines must operate on 60Hz, AC current.
